Today was the best. it wasn't that eventful...if you were to look at my day from someone else's point of view you would've said it was pretty lame. But i didn't think so. I got to hang out with a new friend a lot today, Katie. I've been wanting to hang with her for awhile, and the opportunity presented itself today. She's good friends with Tricia, so i want to get to know her. we went to walmart after school today (our original plan was to get tanning oil and go lay out at T's house to get tannnn before prom, but it was icky outside). We shopped for a little bit and had a snack, then went back to Katie's house where there were flowers waiting for her, a boy asking her to prom! so we came up with a master plan to say YES on the back of his car in car paint and put a flower from the bouquet under his windshield wiper. We 3 ate dinner at my house and were planning on going to the girls soccer game and decorating his car before the game. Well, we went to the school and it started POURING. so the car paint was a fail, but we improvised by writing a note and leaving it on his windshield (in plastic, so the rain wouldnt get it). Then we met up with 2 guys from CS at the school and hung out for a while, all in my car just talking, we didnt really have anything else better to do. then Tricia's boyfriend came and picked her up and the rest of us went out for pizza.
I liked spending time with this new friend because i like getting to know new people. it's worked out for me pretty well these last few months. i like having the opportunity to love on her, it's great.
A kid from our rival high school died today. He graduated last year and was dating a girl who's a senior this year. i've known her for years, but i didnt know him. he got in a crash last weekend and has been in a coma ever since. i can't imagine that, losing a boyfriend, or anyone close to me like that. i'm glad i've never had to go through it, and hopefully never will. thinking about what happened to him makes me want to savor every moment with the people i have in my life, and take nothing for granted.
