after a short club-talk-ish message, all of the soon-to-be-leaders were taken to a back room and sent out in groups, so you got to see who all was getting placed together but you didn't see what team they were all on until after you got placed. so if you were one of the first placed, you got to see everyone get placed, if you were last, you didn't. i was one of the last. after they called you and your new-teamies names to get placed, you got to run out from the back room and greet your new teamies, then go take your very first team pictures!
Clark called my name to be placed with Jeff, who i sort of know, and Taylor, who i don't know well at all. this just excited me. new brothers and sisters. we ran out into the great room and got placed on.......TEAM LEXINGTON!
i'm loving this team. the school seems to be lots like hidden valley. it's 35 minutes from campus, which i actually LOVE because it allows for lots of teamie bonding time in the car! i love my new teammates, they are all so funny. so funny. at least half of us have been blessed with the gift of humor, so clearly i'll fit in perfectly. i'm just so excited to start ministry in the high school. I can't wait til club on tuesday. i'm so psyched to see what the Lord has in store for me and this team this year.
i can't believe that 53 new leaders were placed. how amazing is that? praise the Lord! with 100+ leaders already out in the schools (i'm underestimating here, it's definitely larger than 100). so at least 153 columbia leaders in the schools.that's crazy. 53 new leaders that will do 8-10 hours a week of ministry to high school kids. 8 months out of the year. over the next three years. 100+ more leaders that will also, during their young life career in columbia do 2-3 years, 8 months of the year for 8-10 hours. i'll do the math for you, that's over 33,000 hours of high school (and middle school) ministry, in Columbia ALONE, and that's just for the current leaders! it doesn't even include past and future leaders! God is so good.
