inspiration

i haven't posted in a month. because i haven't felt inspired. until now.

i'm currently in rock hill, south carolina to watch hidden valley play baseball. i'm so blessed to be here. all of my friends went home for easter, but i figure, hey, if harry's playing (he got pulled up to varsity for this weekend btw, woot woot!) only an hour away from USC, how could i miss that? 2 days with the fam and watching baseball....could it get any better?! i thought the answer was no. but i was wrong. we assumed harry wouldn't play, they wanted him to be a back up pitcher i guess, i don't know how it works. but he got to pitch one inning today and he did SO good. he didn't allow any runs. I don't think i've ever been so proud of my little brother....i was cheering so loud (i'm sure i probably embarrassed him...sorry broski). so i figured, what could get better than this?!

well, my friend Rachel was sitting with me. she's younger than me and her bro is on harry's team. anyways, i got to talking with her, and she mentioned something about this blog. i was caught pretty off guard...once again, it really surprises me that people read this and actually CARE what i have to say. she said something about how i hadn't posted in a while, and i just shrugged it off, saying, "ehh, i just haven't been inspired lately."

............what?

i'm sorry, did you just catch that? i haven't been inspired lately? clearly i'm losing it. I live a life in Christ. there's inspiration all around me. it's so fitting Rachel said this today, Good Friday of all days......what's more inspiring than Christ giving up his life? oh yeah, maybe the fact that he gave up his life for you and me!

I think that when we believe that Christ died for us he gave us not only new life but a new perspective on life. inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something. i think that acknowledging and believing Christ's death on the cross, giving us new life, is the "process" of us being spiritually stimulated to do his work and feel his love. so that means that the death of Jesus Christ = inspiration and new life for all of his people. and that's inspiration enough right there. inspiration to walk with Him and be obedient and want to learn more about Him. we are so unbelievably blessed because of what Jesus did for us 2000 years ago. and that is inspiring.
